Frequently Asked Questions

General

What is Pindrop? It is a practice layer for EX listening: assemble a cycle, keep the collector you already have, walk into the meeting with a pack in the organisation's own template, and close the loop with an action plan and a date to review progress — not a kanban.

Who is it for? The platform is designed for HR teams, people analytics professionals, employee experience consultants, and anyone responsible for understanding and improving the employee experience.

What browsers are supported? The platform works in all modern browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. We recommend keeping your browser up to date for the best experience.

Surveys & Questionnaires

Can I import existing questionnaires? Yes. You can import questionnaires from Word (.docx), PDF, and Excel (.xlsx) files. The platform will parse the file and map questions into the editor where you can review and adjust them.

How does AI question generation work? Describe your survey topic and objectives in a brief, and the AI will generate a draft set of questions following EX best practices. You can then edit, reorder, add, or remove questions before finalising.

What anonymity options are available? You can configure anonymity thresholds per survey. When a demographic segment has fewer responses than the threshold, results for that segment are suppressed to protect respondent identity.

Analysis

Can I compare results across time periods? Yes. The comparison mode in Analysis lets you view results side-by-side across different survey rounds, highlighting trends and significant changes.

What chart types are available? The platform includes bar charts, line charts, heatmaps, scatter plots, and pie charts. All charts are interactive — click on segments to drill down into the underlying data.

Can I export reports? Yes. You can generate presentation-quality PowerPoint and PDF reports in your own template. Reports include charts, summary statistics, and narrative commentary.

Projects and Programmes

What is the difference between a Project and a Programme? A project is the operational container for a single delivery engagement — it has a stage pipeline, tasks, issues, and links to questionnaires, surveys, and analysis. A programme groups multiple related projects under one umbrella (for example, an annual EX programme made up of separate projects for questionnaire design and for running the survey). You can use projects without programmes if your work does not require that grouping.

How do I track delivery progress across projects? Go to Projects > Reporting for a cross-project dashboard showing status distribution, task completion rates, open issues by severity, and stage bottlenecks.

Account & Security

How do I enable two-factor authentication? Open the account menu at the top right (under your name) and choose Security. From there you can set up two-factor authentication using an authenticator app or security key.

How do I invite new users? Admins can add users from Users in the Workspace menu in the top bar. Enter the user's email and assign a role. They will receive an invitation to set up their account.

I forgot my password. What do I do? Click the Forgot password link on the sign-in page and enter your email address. You will receive a link to reset your password.
