Action Plans
An action plan sets out what you want to change (wish), the result you hope for (outcome), what could get in the way (obstacle) and what you will do (plan), with a date to review progress. It is started from a workshop or from a finding. It is not a kanban card dumped on managers.
Plans do not need a Pindrop survey. A survey round run in Qualtrics and imported can still produce actions here — start an action plan from the analysis Improve step, or from Plotlines when you use it, not only from a survey.
Creating a plan
- Open Action plans and click New action plan.
- Title it. Under Which organisation is this for?, choose the organisation (a plan started from a survey or an analysis already has one). A workspace with one organisation has it chosen for you.
- Start from a workshop, or add a finding by hand.
- Fill in the wish, outcome, obstacle and plan. Set a review date the organisation will actually keep.
Plans move Draft → Active → Completed → Archived.
The four parts of a plan
- Wish — what we want, in their words.
- Outcome — how we will know.
- Obstacle — the real friction, named.
- Plan — if-then, owned, dated.
Empty fields are allowed while drafting. A plan that leaves your hands with only a wish is not finished.
Review date and outcome scale
Each action can carry a five-point outcome scale (−2 … +2) and a review date. The next listening moment should be able to see whether last year’s promises were kept.
Workshops
Workshops gather actions from the room. You can start one in two ways:
- On its own. Open Workshops (from Action plans) and click New workshop. You do not need a plan first; choose which organisation it is for. When you complete the workshop, Pindrop makes the action plan for that organisation and takes you to it.
- For an existing plan. Open the plan and choose Workshops. The workshop's actions are added to that plan.
A workshop's actions are saved once. They are written into the action plan's four parts; the workshop does not create a separate to-do list.
Close the loop
You said / we did is the employee-facing note. Open it with Close the loop on the organisation's page, even before any earlier surveys are recorded. It is built from the action plans for that organisation, and a plan reaches it in one of these ways:
- it was started from a survey or an analysis for that organisation,
- that organisation was chosen under Which organisation is this for? when the plan, or the workshop that made it, was created, or
- it was linked to one of that organisation's projects (on any plan that includes action plans and projects).
If there are no plans yet, the page says so; there is nothing to publish until there is real work to report. Export markdown or HTML into their comms — intranet, email, all-staff. Publishing records that the matching earlier survey has been followed up. That is how follow-up on earlier surveys is measured. It is not a portal-only page.
Export to their tracker
CSV and Excel of owner, wish, outcome, obstacle, plan, review date, and source finding. Use it to load their tracker. Pindrop is not the system of record for delivery. There is no Jira, Monday, or Workday connector.
What this is not
Culture Amp AI Coach, Qualtrics Personalized Actions, Peakon Illuminate and similar tools compress comments into manager nudges. That is not this product. The buyer designs the programme. Actions can later be exported into their tracker; Pindrop is not the system of record for delivery.
