Analysis
An analysis brings survey data and its results together. You can work with imported data or a linked Pindrop survey. The steps shown depend on the source.
Creating a Project
Go to Analysis and create a new analysis. Select the organisation and give the project a title. Once created, add the data source and review its configuration. A linked survey uses the Source, Configure, Quantitative, Qualitative, Export and Improve steps; imported data uses Load, Configure, Results, Export and Improve.
Load or Link Data
In Load, add and review the data sources for an imported analysis. In Source, check the linked survey and load its data. Confirm you are using the intended survey before moving to Configure.
Configure Analysis
For imported data, check column mappings and the configuration before opening Results. For survey data, review scoring and rules in Configure. Correct the source or configuration if a result does not represent what the question measured.
Quantitative Results
Open Results for imported data or Quantitative for a survey. Imported analysis runs automatically when Results needs an updated result. Wait for processing to finish, then review the survey metrics and available breakdowns. If an error appears, check its message and return to Configure or the source data as needed.
How overall favourability is calculated
Every answer to a scored question counts once. Overall favourability is the favourable answers divided by all the answers, so a question that more people answered counts for more. Questions you have excluded are left out. The executive summary, the health rating, the change since the last survey and the decks all use this one figure, and the change since the last survey is weighted the same way. If everyone answered every question, it equals the average of the questions. For an imported file without response counts there is nothing to weight by, so each question counts equally (a plain average).
Qualitative Results
Open Qualitative to explore open responses from the linked survey. Review the comments alongside the numerical findings. If there are no analysis results yet, return to Source and load the survey data first.
Export Results
Use Export once results are available. Choose the available download or create a presentation, report or dashboard from the analysis. Check the source and any filters before sharing an output. Plotlines is optional and experimental, for narrative frames.
Improve
The Improve step turns a finding into an action plan with a date to review progress. Concerns on the results become starting points for an action. This also works with imported analysis that has no Pindrop survey. Record what you want to change and when you will review progress.
