Managing Clients
Clients represent the organisations you listen to — a consultant's clients, or your own organisation if you are an in-house team. All of your work on the platform — surveys, listening strategies, roadmaps, and analysis — sits under a client record.
The Clients List
Navigate to Clients in the sidebar to see all your active clients. Use the Archived toggle to view clients that are no longer active. The list shows each client's name, industry, and the date of last activity.
Creating a Client
Click New Client and complete the form:
- Name — the organisation's name as you want it displayed throughout the platform
- Industry — used for benchmarking and categorisation
- Notes — any free-text context visible to your team
Save the record to open the client detail page.
Client Detail Tabs
Each client page is organised into tabs:
- Questionnaires — questionnaires built or shared for this client
- Listening Strategies — strategy plans created for the client
- Reviews — scheduled or completed review checkpoints
- Roadmaps — improvement roadmaps linked to survey findings
- Org Structure — the client's department and team hierarchy
- Branding — per-client colour and logo overrides for deliverables
Keeping Context Current
The Context tab lets you store background information about the client's situation, strategic priorities, and goals. This context is surfaced to presentations, strategy, and the dashboard coach. AskEX This file answers from the survey or imported analysis, not from this tab. Review context before starting a new survey or preparing a report.
Per-Client Branding
Open the Branding tab on a client's detail page (or navigate to /clients/[id]/branding) to set colour and logo overrides for that client's deliverables. These values take precedence over the workspace-level defaults configured in Settings > Presentations.
You can configure:
- Primary colour — used for section dividers, accent bars, and headings in slide decks (hex value)
- Accent colour — secondary highlights and chip fills (hex value)
- Foreground colour — default text colour; leave blank to use the standard colour
- Background colour — slide background; leave blank to use the standard colour
- Logo — a URL pointing to a PNG with a transparent background, rendered on title and closing slides
A live preview panel shows how the colours and logo will appear on sample slides and in chart palettes. Saving takes effect immediately — any presentation or report subsequently generated for this client will use these overrides.
Context Depth
Start with Simple for the organisation overview and the decision you want to inform. Standard opens Organisation, Priorities and Listening. Detailed adds Experience, Frameworks, Lexicon and Notes. Save each section as you go; switching depth keeps your draft available.
Organisation and Workforce
Use Organisation to record the organisation profile and workforce context. Check who can be reached before choosing listening channels. Keep the overview current so later planning starts with the right background.
Priorities
Record business and people priorities and values. Describe the decision the listening should inform, so the strategy can focus on a useful outcome.
Existing Listening
Use Listening to describe current listening and previous survey history. Record what already exists before adding another survey, and keep gaps or unknowns visible.
Experience
Use Experience in Detailed mode to review readiness and the experience landscape. Capture what is known and use the recommended discovery activities to identify useful next research.
Frameworks
Use Frameworks in Detailed mode to record existing frameworks. This helps later work reflect the organisation's established approach.
Lexicon
Use Lexicon in Detailed mode to record the organisation's terminology. Add the preferred wording so subsequent work can use familiar language consistently.
Notes
Use Notes in Detailed mode for additional background that does not fit the structured sections. Save the section after editing.
